We had a really nice fourth of July weekend. It was nice to have a break and to have Wilson home for an extra day during the weekend. We started our weekend off with a short hike up Bell Canyon, Millie doesn't love the carrier we have but we tried anyways and eventually she got used to it. She only likes to face outward so that's a little hard because that means the carrier can only be on the front of me. It makes me feel like i'm pregnant again. So much weight on my front and pressure on my back.
By the end she was just too tuckered out and slept the whole way down. I don't understand how she can sleep sitting upright like that.
Later that day, on the 3rd, we headed up to the cabin for an overnighter. It was really nice and the weather was amazing. It wasn't too hot at all. We kind of just hung out and relaxed. We loved the mule rides, they were awesome and Millie really loved them. She almost fell asleep when we went on them.
On the 4th we woke up and went on a good long walk. It was fun. Again, Millie had a hard time with the carrier but she did fall asleep eventually and then loved every minute.
Wyatt loved her little feets coming out of the carrier.
Millie and Margo, the best of little friends.
They love touching each other:)
Millie and grandpa:)
After the cabin, the Simons had another get together at their house. We couldn't make it because my family was having a BBQ as well and it was Lexe, Hannah, and Benjamins last day here before they headed back to Arizona. (I forgot to mention, Benjamin came and surprised Lexe while she was up here, it was pretty cool) It was fun to be there and just hang out with the family. Millie was quite tuckered out and luckily because the night ahead with all the fireworks was going to be tough. Fortunately she slept through the whole thing.
Wilson and I climbed up on top of our roof and watched what was around us. It was really cool. It was quite the adventure getting up and down, we don't have a ladder so we had to climb on top of the garbage can and them get up on the roof. Next time we just need to remember to use Wilson's car. It was really fun though.
Getting up
While we were up there.
Getting down. This picture is so funny because it's Wilson's shadow. It was so funny, his shorts got stuck on something and he was just hanging there. We finally got down though. I hope none of our neighbors were watching:/
On Sunday we just hung out, we went to church, came home and had dinner. After dinner I made some treats and Wilson and Millie took a little nap. I'm glad I caught this cute little picture of them.
Once they woke up we went on a really nice walk. We took Millie to the Indian Hills grass field. She loved the grass, at first she didn't know what to do so she just laid in it. I think she really liked it.
Finally a close to our awesome weekend. This was Millie all cozied up when I put her to bed on Sunday night. It was such a wonderful weekend. I love summer weekends and they have been so much more fun with Millie here. Luckily it's only the beginning.
