Ever since I was little, it was the best thing to imagine my wedding day, and who I would marry, and what it would be like in the temple. I never thought it would happen so fast and that the day would actually come, but it always does. I received my endowments on March 5, 2014. Apparently that was the day I was sealed to my parents as well, so that was really special. I loved being in the temple, and even though people always talk about "how weird and different it is" I had a really hard time believing that. I felt that anything that happened in the temple was right and perfect and sacred. I went in thinking that no matter what I was about to experience it would be very special and become near and dear to my heart. I was surrounded by people who loved me. My parents, the Heslops, the Jones, Bob, Dayna, the Pickles, R&R, and Ryan. I was so grateful for the love and support that they showed to me. It was pretty funny because all throughout our engagement, Lindsay was pregnant and she was due 3/17/15. While we were in the temple, her water broke. Luckily she didn't have Zuma till the next day, but it was around 11pm, just hours before Wilson and I were to be sealed. It was a little stressful but it turned out in the end, as it always does.
The day finally came, a beautiful friday morning. It was a lot colder then we had hoped but it was a beautiful sunny day. I got up around 6am because obviously I couldn't sleep, I was about to marry the love of my life!! I think I only slept for about 3 hours that night. I woke up and started getting ready. I did my make-up and then waited for the lady who was doing my hair to show up to our house. She did a beautiful job. I loved my hair, she did just what I wanted. I then put my sunday clothes on and got my wedding dress ready. My mom and I headed up to the temple, where we met Wilson. He looked so handsome. As we met in front of the temple, I couldn't help but feel so lucky that he had come into my life and that we were about to get married. It was such a special feeling. We both got ready in our temple attire, I loved wearing my temple dress during the sealing, it makes wearing it every other time really neat. While our guests filed into the sealing room, we were able to hangout in the Celestial room, it was so special, to sit there with Wilson and think about what we were about to do and what our future would hold. I couldn't help but think about our future children and how we would all be together forever in eternity. We went into the sealing room and started the ordinance. I was nervous to be in front of so many people, with all eyes on us. Our sealer said some really amazing things. He had us look into the mirrors of eternity, first looking back... our pictures went on forever and he explain that that represented the people who had gone before us and they were our ancestors and went all the way back to Adam. He then had us look forward and explained that this represented our posterity and the family that would come because of our union that day. He taught us that we needed to carry each other's loads and to be one in our marriage. He challenged us to go do sealings each year on our anniversary. When it was over, we hugged everyone who came and headed back down to the dressing room. I was so excited to put my wedding dress on and hold a bouquet of flowers. They were so beautiful, just a simple bundle of daisies. Wilson and I met back up at the front of the temple and got ready to come out. We kissed, held hands, and walked out the door to meet all the people who had come to support us.
After we took pictures at the temple, we met everyone for the luncheon at Millennial Falls. It was such a nice lunch and it was great to have everyone there. Wilson gave a really cute little spiel about us and how grateful he was for our relationship. he teared up while talking and he just made it really special for us. He always knows what to say to make things perfect. He made me feel really loved at that moment. After the luncheon was over he and Brad had to go run over to our apartment to move our cars into our parking space and find a spare space. I went home with Daylyn, Jenny, Lex, and Had and we just relaxed and got ready for the reception. Jenn, Jacking, and my mom made the reception just phenomenal, It was so much more than I ever thought it would be. I loved every little thing about it. Here are a couple of the decorations and the cake:)
Looking at all these photos brings back such a happy spirit because it reminds me of that day so much and how I felt. I loved our wedding day so much, it was amazing. Our reception was really cool. So many people came to support us. The line went clear out the door of Hidden Valley and people stood in it forever. While people were line they signed little quilt squares and later my mom and I will make a little wedding quilt. Ellee Duke played at the reception, she was amazing, and so talented. I loved having her there. She played a lot of music from Safe Haven (one of my favorite albums). We cut our cake, which was kind of a fiasco, I was nervous in front of so many people and barely cut it, we barely got into the icing, so basically we fed each other icing. We promised that we wouldn't smash it in each other's faces before so it was nice to just have a clean swap:) After that we danced. I danced with my dad and Wilson with his mom, then we were able to dance together. It was so great. I loved it. If I could do it over again, I would have had other people join in as well. It was hard for me to feel comfortable dancing in front of everyone. Once that was over we headed out for the send off. Wilson hid his car, but of course Robert Wright and some of Wilson's other friends found it. They decorated it with ribbon and shaving cream.. yuck. Everyone gathered together and lit sparklers as we walked out to the car, it was so awesome. We said goodbye to everyone and headed off. With the car a mess, we decided to go through a car wash and then down to my house to change out of my wedding dress. As we pulled into my driveway, we noticed that we were being followed by Robert and his other friends, they drove by and threw "something" at us. They're crazy.
It was such an amazing day and I hope to never forget it. I feel so blessed that I was able to marry Wilson, he makes me happy in every way. He is perfect for me and has blessed my life. I love him with all my heart.
